iPhone Fails to Notify for New Voice Mails
After my brother asked if I got his voice mail earlier today, I realized that my iPhone 3GS hadn’t been notifying me of *any* voice mails for almost 2 weeks – even though I had missed several calls. Turns out I had 7 voice mails waiting for me, which I retreived manually after swearing for a few minutes and threaten to throw my iPhone into the garbage disposal.
I sat down with my phone and started to get it sorted out … first by resetting my network settings (Settings->General->Reset), then upgrading the OS on the phone (from 4.0.1 to 4.0.2), but it still wasn’t picking up any voice mails (I had left a couple as tests). Scouring the Internets revealed little (too much chaff), but I finally stumbled upon a post that lead me to the fix:
CLEAR YOUR DELETED VOICE MAILS!
Apparently, AT&T is happy to keep recording VMails for you, but if your iPhone has too many deleted voice mails – oh no, you don’t get to know about any new ones! Only took me a couple hours to find a fix … Lame-o.
EAA Locator App for iPhone
If you are headed to AirVenture this year and have an iPhone, this app would come in really handy!
