New Fuel Pumps

Author corey    Category Hardware, RV Project     Tags

Name: Protek Fuel Pump Module
P/Ns: FPM-1 & FPM-2
Manufacturer’s Page: ProtekPerformance.com

Description:

Replacement for the original fuel pumps that came with my Eggenfellner E6 engine.

Comments:

I like this for two reasons: 1) they are high quality Walbro GSL 393 pumps, 2) the manifold they are mounted to allow me to connect with standard AN fittings. With the standard Eggenfellner setup, you have to convert from rubber EFI hose to a barbed NPT fitting to an NPT to AN adapter. This setup also handles feeding both pumps very compactly, rather than an extended T with rubber hoses.

Manifold Flow Control Orifice

Name: Brass Flow-Control Orifice, 1/8″ NPT, 0.032″ orifice
P/N: 2712T478
Purchased From: McMaster-Carr

Description:

Brass fitting with 1/8″ NPT threads .. male to female. This particular one has a 0.032″ flow restriction orifice.

Comments:

This will be installed on the engine’s manifold, on the manifold pressure line. The purpose is to prevent the manifold pressure sensors from experiencing rapid fluctuations in pressure, making for a more even response. I’m worried this will actually cause minor tuning problems with the engine ECU (which uses manifold pressure to determine appropriate amounts of fuel), so I will have to experiment a little.. and possibly move this to a position after the ECU’s manifold sensor. (Which would require buying a different type of orifice).

New Fuel Filter from Aeromotive

Author corey    Category Hardware, RV Project     Tags ,

Name: Aeromotive 100 Micron Inline Fuel Filter
Model: 12304
Manufacturers Page: Aeromotiveinc.com
Purchased From: Summit Racing

Description:

Replacement for the original two simple paper fuel filters that came with my E6 Eggenfellner engine. The 12304 has ORB-10 ports and requires an adapter to convert to AN sizes.

Comments:

Need a way to mount this securely, which requires something with a 2″ ID. I am going to try to utilize a large cushioned clamp but may end up buying the purpose-built mount made by Aeromotive. For converting to AN sizes, I purchased ORB-10 adapters from Summit that convert to AN6 and AN10 AN8. The AN10 AN8 male will connect to an AN10 AN8-to-NPT adapter on the fuel pumps. The AN6 male will connect to the fuel input coming from the fuel selector switch.
